Who can use this feature? |
Room owners can mute a single participant or the entire room. Here's how to do it.
Note
You use Turn off audio in the thumbnail settings to mute a participant for you only. Other participants will still hear that person.
If you want to mute a participant so that no one else in the room can hear them, use the Mute for everyone option. This can be useful when a participant has background noise.
-
Find the thumbnail of the person you wish to mute for everyone. Hover over the thumbnail and click on the downward arrow icon that appears on the top right of the thumbnail.
-
Select Mute for everyone.
-
The participant will be muted and will see this message:
Note
The participant can un-mute at any time by clicking the Mic button on the bottom toolbar.
-
If you are using the Evercast desktop app version 3.0 or higher, go to the Admin button in the bottom left of your screen. Hover over the button and select Mute everyone.
If you are using Evercast for Chrome or the Evercast desktop app version 2.x, go to the More button on the right side of your bottom toolbar. In the menu, select Mute all.
-
You will see a green success message at the bottom of your screen.
-
All participants will be muted, except the room owner. Streaming content will not be muted. Participants will see a red message at the bottom of their screen:
Note
Participants can un-mute at any time by clicking the Mic button on the bottom toolbar.
