Who can use this feature?
|
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) helps protect your organization from hacking and account compromise. It requires users to log in with more than just an ID and password, to verify that they’re authorized visitors to an Evercast session. This can be useful when you have external guests invited to your room who are not employees of your organization, or when you have a confidential project and want to carefully control who has access.
To use Evercast with MFA, you need your regular ID/password and a special one-time code. This special code is provided by either an authentication app (such as Google Authenticator for iOS or Android) or a hardware device (such as YubiKey).
Permissions Managers can enable MFA using the Evercast Admin Portal. Here’s how to do it.
-
Go to Feature controls and click on Defaults. This will bring up the Default features panel. Here you can toggle the Require MFA setting on or off.
-
When Require MFA is turned on, every Evercast room owned by your organization will require MFA for all users. If you want only some of your rooms to require MFA and not others, check the Room-specific box.
-
If MFA is turned on, your room can’t be set to “open”, as no passwords are required for open rooms. It can only be a private room.
-
To access a private MFA room, participants must have an Evercast account and be invited to the room.
-
The Special invite and Share room link features are disabled for MFA rooms.
-
If your room requires MFA, you will have to enter an MFA code to access session recordings from that room.
-
You will need to enter an MFA code each time you access the room, unless you are logging in with company SSO, where you will follow the policies set by your company.
