Now that you're onboarded and ready to go, here are some helpful reminders.
-
We recommend a hardwired connection, but for WiFi connections, if you are close to your WiFi router, use your 5G network; if you’re farther away, use your 2.4G network.
-
Quit any additional programs running on your device and close any browser tabs you don’t need, to reduce excess strain on your system.
-
Hide your thumbnail bar by hovering over the People button in the bottom toolbar and selecting Hide webcams. This helps with system processing, especially if there are many participants in the room.
-
In active speaker view, you can hover over a thumbnail and drag it left or right along the thumbnail strip.
-
Hovering over a participant's thumbnail (in active speaker view) or square (in grid view) will make a "down arrow" icon appear. Click it for options to pin/unpin that person's video, turn their audio or video off, or adjust their audio level relative to the rest of the room.
Room owners will see additional options:
-
In active speaker view, the "pop out" icon at the top right of the thumbnail bar will detach the thumbnails into a floating group that you can move around the screen, or onto a second monitor.
-
To view thumbnails in one of the three possible views (a grid, a vertical strip, or a horizontal strip), click the "people" icon in the top left corner of the thumbnail strip.
-
In active speaker view, the participant who is speaking appears in the main viewing area of the screen. When a stream is started, it will automatically show in the main viewing area.
To manually lock a different feed to your main viewing area, simply click on that thumbnail (whether it’s a person or a stream).
To return to the default (toggling among whoever is speaking), click the thumbnail again to unlock it from the main viewing area.
