Watermarking helps provide content security for your organization. It acts as a deterrent against unauthorized sharing of sensitive or proprietary content.
Visual watermarking (or client-side watermarking) appears in the top left of a participant's main window, as text overlaid on the stream or screen share. Participants with an Evercast account will see their own name and email on the screen, along with the date. Guests will see their name and the room name.
Forensic watermarking provides invisible protection, without covering any of the video. It works by generating a unique identifier for each viewer and embedding it in the pixels of the video stream. This digital fingerprint also contains data about the content source. Evercast forensic watermarking protects content in the main window and in the thumbnails.
If your company has an Evercast Admin Portal account, your permissions manager can enable visual watermarking. If you don't have Admin Portal, you can request this feature from your account manager.
Here's how to activate visual watermarking in the Admin Portal.

Click on the Feature controls tab at the top of your window, then click Defaults. The Default features panel appears.

To turn on watermarking in all rooms, click the Visual watermarking toggle so it shows a black dot.

If you want watermarking in some rooms and not in others, select the Room-specific checkbox on the right.
To turn on watermarking in a specific room, select the Feature controls tab at the top of your window and click on the room that you want to adjust. On the right you will see the Feature availability panel for that room. Click the Visual watermarking toggle so it shows a black dot.
Note
Visual watermarking is set to "off" by default. You will have to manually turn it on if you want this feature enabled.
Forensic watermarking is set to "off" by default. To learn more about this premium feature, contact your account manager or the support team.
Here are some notes to keep in mind about forensic watermarking:

Forensic watermarking can be used with the desktop app or the web app.

When forensic watermarking is on, the Recording and Special guest invite features will be disabled.

Forensic watermarking is not available for downloaded recordings.
