When Do not disturb mode is enabled, a room can be "locked" and new participants can't join the room until approved by a room owner or room admin.
Do not disturb is available in Evercast for Chrome and in the desktop app (version 3.2 and higher). Permissions managers can activate the feature in the Evercast Admin Portal. If your organization does not have Admin Portal, contact your Account Manager for assistance.
-
In Admin Portal, select the Feature controls tab at the top of your window, then click Defaults. The Default features panel appears.

-
To enable Do not disturb in a specific room, click on Feature controls at the top of your window. On the left panel, select a room that you want to adjust. Settings for that room will appear in the right panel.
Toggle on Do not disturb for that room.
This feature is available in the Evercast desktop app version 3.2 and above. Click here to update your app to the latest version.
Do not disturb works with both open and private rooms, and can be controlled by room owners or room admins.
Here's how it works on the desktop app (version 3.2 or higher):
-
While in a live room session, go to the Admin button at the bottom left of your app window. In the Admin submenu, turn on Do not disturb.
-
When this mode is turned on, no users can join the room unless manually admitted, even if they have an active invitation to the room.
An icon appears in the top menu showing that the room is in Do not disturb mode.
-
As participants request to enter the room, you will see notifications in the top right of your screen. Click the green check to admit the person, or the red X to deny their request.
The waiting list will show each requesting participant's email, how they were authenticated (Okta, SSO, etc.) and whether they are a guest user.
-
You can also see the waiting list in the People panel.
From here, you have the option to Admit all or Deny all of the waiting participants.
-
If you enable Do not disturb in a private room, you can still invite special guests with a single-use room access link. The link will expire after 5 minutes.
-
To manually turn off Do not disturb mode, return to the Admin button and toggle the feature off.
The feature will automatically disable once everyone leaves the room.
