We’ve heard you! We're always working to improve your experience on Evercast. Here’s a roundup of the latest changes.
Now you can define your color space when streaming from a Blackmagic Design DeckLink source, allowing you full flexibility to stream color-accurate content to any professional monitor or projector. Your viewers can also customize these settings to suit their hardware.
Here's how it works
-
Prepare your source content in DaVinci Resolve, then enter a live room in Evercast.
Access the color settings from the Stream button on the bottom toolbar (in Conference mode) or from the DaVinci Resolve button in the bottom toolbar (in Stream only mode).
-
You can customize your color space, video levels and gamma.
The Color space dropdown has predefined pairs of primaries and transfer functions. If you select Custom in this menu, you can independently select a combination of primaries and transfer functions.
The Settings menu also lets you configure your video levels and choose between approximate or exact gamma.
Now you can stream directly from DaVinci Resolve with the click of a button, making it easy to stream both your screen and DeckLink source simultaneously. This feature works in Conference mode and in our new Stream only mode.
Here's how it works
-
Prepare your source content in DaVinci Resolve, then enter a live room in Evercast.
Evercast auto-detects that DaVinci Resolve is running, and a floating panel appears above the DaVinci Resolve app.
You will also see new options appear in the bottom toolbar of your Evercast app. In Conference mode, the Stream menu will have a Stream DaVinci Resolve option:
In Stream only mode, a DaVinci Resolve button will appear in the bottom toolbar:
-
Configure your settings and click Start. If you are using Blackmagic hardware, Evercast will generate both a DeckLink stream and a screen share, at the same time.
-
You can individually stop either stream from the Stream button in the toolbar. To stop both streams at once, use the red Stop stream button in the floating panel.
-
With our new Stream only mode, you can stream to a live room without being a participant in the room. You won't see or hear any other participants, and they can only see or hear the stream.
-
You can now stream content directly from Autodesk Flame to an Evercast room.
-
You can now stream a video file from a URL (such as from Mediasilo.com or Frame.io) into an Evercast room.
-
You can export saved stream settings, by stream type, from your local application as a configuration file. Those saved stream settings can later be imported for use on other projects.
To experience these features and more, make sure to update your Evercast app for Mac and Windows.
Happy streaming! Stay tuned until next time.
