Here are the color settings you can customize:
Color space dropdown: You can select from predefined pairs of primaries and transfer functions.
If you select Custom in this menu, you can independently select a set of color space primaries.
Primaries define the maximum values for red, green, and blue relative to the visible light spectrum. Examples: Rec.709, Rec.2020, D65.P3.
Transfer function defines how the signal maps to actual luminance values in the display. Gamma functions are one type of transfer function. Examples: Gamma 2.4, PQ, HLG.
Primaries dropdown: If you select Custom in the Color space menu, you can independently select a set of color space primaries.
Transfer function dropdown: If you select Custom in the Color space menu, you can independently select your transfer function.
Video levels dropdown: You can select between Full and Legal levels, as appropriate for your software.
Legal (also called Video or SMPTE range) refers to the color range developed for TV broadcasting. In 8-bit, instead of 0-255 color values, legal range is 16-235. In 10-bit, instead of 0-1023 color values, legal range is 64-940. Color values outside the legal range will be clipped.
Allow approximate gamma checkbox: With this option checked, Evercast performs fast, high quality color space transformations. If greater precision is required, uncheck this option.
