Here's a general guide on ways to stream on Evercast and for which scenarios they are best.

Evercast for Mac or Windows

Evercast Broadcaster Software (EBS)

User-friendly option where you can easily stream from right within the app, but with limited capabilities.

Best for:

Generic device, file, or NDI® capture streams.
Smaller number of participants in the room.
Streaming high-fidelity color formats from supported software tools, such as DaVinci Resolve.

Limitations:

Can have diminished stream quality depending on CPU resources and strength of internet connection, especially if running editing software and the desktop app on the same computer.

More robust streaming tool with numerous options, but can be more challenging to set up and use.

Best for:

Display capture or post-source control, such as cropping, resizing, or mixing.
If your editing machine doesn't have a mic and webcam connected.
Larger number of participants in the room.
You have more than one view you want to share, such as a timeline view and a full-screen view.
Remote setups where your editing software is on a remote machine accessed by using Jump Desktop, Teradici, or similar.
