We’ve heard you! We're always working to improve your experience on Evercast. Here’s a roundup of the latest changes.
You can now use your Apple TV 4K to view high accuracy color streams in up to 10-bit 4:4:4 in the Rec.709 color space. Download or update the Evercast for Apple TV app to start using this feature.
Now the app shows streams coming from the Evercast for Mac or Windows apps in addition to Evercast for Chrome.
If there are multiple streams in a room, Apple TV will now show the last one that was started.
Now you can use the Evercast desktop app to stream through NDI from inside your room and without all the fuss of physical hardware. You'll get the same high quality, low latency, frame-accurate video and audio in real time. The NDI stream feature supports color bit depth in 8-bit (4:2:0, 4:2:2, and 4:4:4) and 10-bit (4:2:0 and 4:2:2).
Here's how it works
In a live room, in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, click More and you’ll find the Stream (beta) option.
A pop-up window displays where you can select how to stream. Click the NDI® tab.
Configure the settings, and click Start. The stream starts in the room. When you’re ready to stop streaming, click More again, and then Stop stream.
Now you get to choose whether the toolbar in a live room stays or goes in the Evercast desktop app. We've listened to your feedback and given you the option to pin the toolbar to the screen so that it won't autohide after you navigate away from it.
We've also added explanatory text under the buttons and improved the icons.
Here's how it works
On the toolbar, click the Layout button and select whether to Always show toolbar or conversely, Auto-hide toolbar.
To help you easily see which screen or window you are sharing in a live room in the Evercast desktop app, a blue border appears around the window being shared. A blue notification box also displays as a reminder that the screen is being shared.
To experience these features and more, make sure to update your Evercast app for Mac and Windows.
Happy streaming! Stay tuned until next time.
