The Evercast app for Mac and Windows is our signature, more robust version of Evercast, with specialized streaming features, reinforced security, and boosted performance. Now you won’t have to rely on the Google Chrome web browser to use Evercast.
You can download it here. It’s compatible with any Windows 10 or macOS device at 10.13 High Sierra or newer.
All features in Evercast for Chrome are also available in the Evercast app for Mac and Windows. The below features are only available in the app for Mac and Windows:
Now you can stream video footage or a file directly to an Evercast video conferencing room using the app. You can select a video source to stream live from a device, such as another camera connected with a USB cable. Or you can select a file to upload from your computer and then stream it to the room.

In a live room, in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, click More and you’ll find the Stream (beta) option.

A pop-up window displays where you can select whether to stream from a device or upload a file.

Configure the settings, and click Start. The stream starts in the room. If you’re streaming from a file, you can use playback controls such as play, pause, and forward. When you’re ready to stop streaming, click More again, and then Stop stream.
Now you have more control over who you want to see in the thumbnails and in what position they’re placed in the thumbnail bar. You can even detach the whole thumbnail bar and move it to another monitor to give the video conferencing room more real estate.
On a participant’s thumbnail, click the push pin icon to move the thumbnail to the first available position on the far left.
To move a thumbnail horizontally from left to right along the thumbnail strip, click the Drag icon and move your mouse. The thumbnail detaches and you can place it in another position.
To detach the thumbnail strip from the app, in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, click Layout and select Detach thumbnails. Now you can move it where you want!
It’s easier than ever to copy, paste, and share a room’s link, from these places in the app:
In a live room, in the bottom left corner:
In the dashboard, you can paste a room’s link to join that room:
In the dashboard, you can copy a room’s link from its tile. This option only appears for rooms where you’re not the room owner.
Evercast is rolling out the first phase of extensive improvements to color display so that you can see your productions in Evercast exactly as you created them. We added support for:

VP9 codec profiles 1 and 2.

Additional signal formats, including 8 bit (4:2:0, 4:2:2, and 4:4:4) and 10 bit (4:2:0). 10 bit 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 are currently in development and will be released soon!

Note
These improvements are only available when using the streaming from file feature in the Mac and Windows app and not when streaming with EBS.

Here’s how to start using the app:

Download and install the app.

Open the app on your Mac or Windows computer.

Sign in with the same credentials you use for Evercast for Chrome.
Note
Go ahead and access your room(s) as normal. If you download the new app, you’ll be prompted to choose to join your room with the app or continue in Google Chrome.
